For years, I doubted my son's giftedness because his schools, and there were quite a few, would always claim that he was getting a great education. His inability to pay attention was claimed to be ADD - two separate evaluations proved otherwise. Several teachers even claimed he was "playing me" or "pulling the wool over my eyes."
