Hey,
I just came across some random info on the Math Olympiad (a kid in our area was one of the winners last year) and am wondering about it. I found their website but the info was kind of piecemeal--it seems like you have to take some kind of qualifying test to get into a program, which you then have to attend, and then you may qualify to go further, the ultimate goal being competing in the olympiad testing. But I couldn't get a sense of where the programs were (if any are near us at all), are there online options, what age it might start at, etc. Does anyone know more about this, or where to find more coherent info? Also apparently there's a similar computing olympiad--I had read about a coding competition in Wired that sounded cool, but it was for high school students and the schools seemed to have programs that fed into it. Which I'm sure we don't have here, which is disappointing.
