I'm sorry I don't post as much as I lurk, but I thought I had to post a success story.

Last year DD10 was skipped from 4th to 5th, and following that was what seemed to be a never ending battle with the 5th grade teachers, DD's organizational skills, bullying girls and so on. I was worried that this year I was going to have another battle getting her into the Honor's classes in 6th grade which is middle school for us.

We had orientation yesterday and didn't find out till yesterday that she was indeed in Honor's classes. It seems that all the honors students go to classes together, so all the girls that were giving her problems last year are no longer in her class.

Her math teacher is her homeroom teacher, and is just a firecracker, which is what DD needs to keep her attention (math is not her interest). She even came out in the beginning and said "we don't bother with doing 30 problems to practice the same thing over and over" I could have hugged her! The other teachers seem equally as sweet and approachable.

A whole classroom of children like her...Just makes me want to cry I'm loving it.

The impossible is just something that hasn't happened yet.
