My DS5 got snap circuits for his birthday and LOVES it. He will spend hours making projects and talking about how they work. Any other similar fun things he may like? There are upgrade kits to his snap circuits but just wondered if there are other things that people may be able to recommend.

Shellymos last night my boy made an electomagnet, electric telegraph and woke up early this morning ready to continue with the kit to make the electric bell (which he's decided will be our new doorbell!). Too bad he had to go to school.

They are in the Electric Bell kit made by Slinky Science.

A big pastime here at the moment is 'take-apart.' Frenchie, who never throws things away (sigh...), has a bunch of old, non-working things in the barn, so the kids have had their screwdrivers, wire-cutters, pliers, etc., out, and have been disassembling an old food-processor, tape deck, VCR, electric motor, and so on. It's quite instructive, especially when they try to put it back together again! (Obviously I don't let them plug things back in--in fact, I've been cutting off the plugs altogether, so that temptation doesn't get the best of them.)

If you are lucky, I mean unfortunate, enough not to have a packrat for a husband, you can usually get this kind of junk, I mean treasure, at the thrift store or garage sales for cheap.

peace

Thanks for the tip tory, and Minnie my DH did have stuff like that around....I may have gotten rid of most of it. I will check and see what we have, he may enjoy that.
