My first grade son (7 years old) just received his NWEA tet scores. Math 187 and Reading 235. Appaently this is one of the highest reading scores ever for the lower grades and the hightest combined score through fifth grade. I have looked at the NWEA site trying to interpret these results but have had little luck... Any suggestions? Also, given these results I am not sure how to approach the (private) school for second grade.

From the Norms report, the 235 reading is off the charts for 1st grade and at the 95% for 6th grade. The math is at the 78% for 1st grade. Sounds like he's quite a reader!

These may help with ways to differentiate his reading:

That puts his math also off the charts for 1st grade and at the 91% for 3rd grade. It may be worth looking into a grade skip (or skips) as a way to get curriculum that's a better match for him.
