Hi. I need some advice on finding private kindergarten schools in NYC for high-functioning, intelligent kids with IEPs.
My son was recently diagnosed with Sensory Processing Dysfunction but is very bright academically. He's in a phenomenal pre-k now, being challenged academically while receiving the DOE's recommended OT and Speech. It's a fantastic fit and we couldn't be happier for him. It came to my attention that private school apps must be done by January 31 for the 2013-14 year and I'm at a loss for K schools that receive DOE funding. Any reccos from New Yorkers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Bumping this up. I don't live in New York and so can't help.

Churchill, Stephen Gaynor, Gillen Brewer, and Parkside were recommended to me when we were living in NYC; NEST program is very good for kids on the spectrum.
Lang School is another one that was touted. Churchill, Parkside, and GB receive DOE funding, but I know it can be a headache getting it. I know Parkside is very difficult to get a slot, but I do know someone who attends there and is doing very well.

DS attended CPELC's pre-k program before we moved back to MA. He was born with severe processing issues and had been receiving pt, ot, and speech in NYC. Actually, the mess with kindergarten and special needs was one of the reasons why we moved back to MA so I wish you well.

We are seriously looking at Lang. 2E school that says their parents are "ridiculously successful" in getting DOE funding. Good luck!
