My son took the WPPSI-IV test when he was 6. I am just now learning about the Davidson Young Scholars program. I see that you have to score a 145+ on some of the sections. I was curious if anyone that's applied know if they consider the confidence interval scores? My son misses the 145 by 2 points if you just go by the composite score, but with the confidence interval he does meet the 145+. Just curious if it is worth applying knowing that he doesn't meet that exact score. Anyone with experience?

I haven't applied for any of my children, but I know there are others who have applied with near-qualifying scores, and been accepted (usually with help from the portfolio). Perhaps some of them will chime in. My opinion, FWIW, is that there's no real downside to applying. (It doesn't cost any money, and just a bit of time.) If they don't accept him, his situation is no different than if you didn't apply, but if they do, you and he will have gained some nice resources.

He must have been near the age limit and old enough for the WISC. Are you sure about the test?

I just looked up the ages for both tests. He was just shy of 6 so that's probably why they didn't do the WISC. Doesn't really matter in the long run because both ask for a 145+.
