Say! I've had no trouble at all finding information on the web about the WISC IV, but am having difficulty finding the same on the the WJ.

I'm trying to figure out what percentile Mite's scores were in. He scored at high school level on a few of the subtests (GE 12.9, ie), but I can't find a %ile score for them on our eval papers nor on the web.

Anyone know a web source?

I recommend requesting the full table of scores from the individual who gave the test. When my daughter was given the W-J, I received a report that contained the following information for each subtest: RAW, AE, EASY to DIFF, RPI, PR, and SS (68% BAND). Of course, if your son hit the ceiling on the subtests, there may not be much information to receive. My daughter hit the ceiling on about a third of the subtests she was given. The test program apparently could not handle the scores and indicated to the tester that my daughter's age was incorrect. The program did not provide percentages for these subtests and completely omitted them from the overall score. The individual who administered the test for my daughter was not familiar with testing gifted children and did not know how to handle the results. We later had a S-B IV administered to our daughter by a psychologist who works with gifted children.

Ditto - ask the test administrator. I'm not sure I would trust web sources on something like this anyway. The actual information is probably copyrighted.

the problem is the test administrator doesn't seem to understand the information at all. I don't plan on getting all the answer from from the 'net, but to at least gain enough understanding to know what to ask. When I asked if any of the scores were at the ceiling, she didn't know what I meant!!!

Mind you he was tested by the school district special ed team; so their emphasis is never at or near the ceiling but rather at or near the floor. While that shouldn't be the case, it sadly is.

Summer - Wow - that's an amazing story! To think that a less informed parent would have gotten and accepted at face value a score that is severly depressed! This is just creepy.

Oh dear.... I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Our first tester refused to give us the grade equivalents because he thought that they had to be meaningless since they were so ridiculously high.

Well.... have you checked out hoagies to see if there is anything linked there that might help explain? Hoagies has almost everything.....

Do the DYS requirements list specific scores on the achievement tests? If it is high enough to satisfy them, it would seem to be pretty high.

It still seems as though the tester should be able to supply the percentile rankings.

Mite is 8. His subtests at GE 12.9 were in reading and verbal comprehension. He just took the test in May when he was 8 years 4 months.

I've asked for the full report and for the raw date for all tests given; so we can give them to someone else to interpret them. We are waiting for them.
