Hi My sons GIEP meeting was held one day before school was canceled due to the coronovirus. Right now they have home assignments but all review -No new content. My sons done with school in about an hour a day. I'm hesitant signing off on the NORA because of the unknown timing and services offered when school is out. Everything is in flux.

Should I sign the NORA and note that I want to reconvene if needed when school resumes OR not sign it due to the unknown needs of having to home school? Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

Also, If you don't sign are you not eligible for any gifted services? I'd also like his GIEP meeting to be schedule more toward the beginning of the year as March makes it difficult to plan for new year.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about any paperwork right now. Most schools are considered to be not in session, with home assignments more to maintain engagement than for instruction. Based on your description, your district is likely not counting the home assignments as time on learning (i.e., official school days). So the timeline literally has stopped in most states, including yours.

Stay safe.
