Ds9 was having issues last quarter with not paying attention in class or doing the work. It was very frustrating to have his teachers recommend medication for ADHD.. especially when he ended the quarter with one C (in writing) and the rest B's. Finally got the funds together he will be evaluated through Dr Beljans group in Scottsdale this month and we have our first appointment this afternoon! Wish us luck this will help us determine the best schooling fit for him!

After talking to the Dr and reviewing his work they suspect possible dysgraphia and boredom resulting in his underachievement. They are also going to get us an educational advocate once his scores are in. I was very pleased. They also said there is an actual blood test that can be done to correlate ADHD if his testing suspects it. But she did say it is unlikely as it is rare for a gifted child to have ADHD but still possible. One of the tests they are going to give him is purposely boring and tedious to see if he really can't do it it if he chooses not to. End of next week he has two sessions of testing that last half a day. They will administer another gifted test, IQ test, writing test and a number of other evaluations in numerous subjects to determine actual academic level in each one
