I know this has come up a lot but we are really torn between what test to use to help us with the DYS application and we have about 2 weeks to make up our mind - we are looking between the WISC and the SB - my DS7 is a perfectionist and does not like timed tests at all - he also has dypraxia which makes things like block building difficult for him - he is a very verbal child and will talk your ear off if you allow him to.....he took the SBV when he was 4.5 years old and he had scores all over the place...like 99% on nonverbal Fluid Reasoning, 99.6% on Visual Spatial Verbal, 95% on Quantitative Reasoning Verbal, 95% on Working Memorey nonverbal and then 63% on verbal working memory and 75% on nonverbal knowledge so his low lows pulled down his highs.....the psychologist we are using is the same as the one who administered the RIAS to him where he also scored very high on verbal sections - but DYS doesn't take the RIAS....she said she was also torn between the two - the SBV she said she could just administer the verbal section which would lessen the testing time but she said he may do really well on the WISC...would love to hear some opinions :-)
