Over the years there have been several threads here on the Gifted Issues Discussion Forum, lamenting a sense of failure for various reasons and after encountering a variety of situations and setbacks. Hopefully each author's circumstances which had them feeling stuck, are temporary and will pass.

With that in mind, there have also been numerous posts regarding fear of failure as the root of procrastination, perfectionism.

There are also soundbites, such as:
    - Live and learn.
    - Much of life is a reiterative process.

Carol Dweck's book, mindset (2007), includes discussion of the power which exists in self-talk and use of the word "yet" (for example "I don't know how to do that... yet"). This YouTube video provides one reader's summary of mindset:

Here is a current article which touches a bit on the overall concept of resilience, and learning from failures, mistakes, and adversity.
7 Signs of Mentally Strong People

Research finds that mental strength is linked to resilient traits.
    ...
    KEY POINTS
    - Mentally strong and resilient people overcome adversities and learn from them.
    - Research finds that mentally resilient people have personality traits that help them cope with adversity.
    - They tend toward emotional maturity and make an effort to process negative events from their past.

Here is another article with a somewhat similar approach and recommendation for dealing with adversity:

5 Ways of Changing Your Thought Pattern During Hard Times

The article is brief, well-worth reading, and may spark new idea or two.
