Does anyone know if groups like Duke Tip, John Hopkins, etc, are open to Canadian kids who are attending school overseas (but go to America during the summer)? Looking for resources for a HG+ child.

JHU CTY certainly is our DD has always met kids from overseas when attending.

Too late to apply for this year though.

When discussing resources, you'll want to name them accurately... Johns Hopkins.

You might also directly check the websites of any institutions/programs of interest. In navigating their links, you may be in the best position to determine which category(-ies) your child(ren) fit into.

For example, you might know which options are applicable and which are not applicable for your family's circumstances:

Are you looking for some opportunities in a specific area of interest? There are several math camps for very gifted students and if they are older, many Summer Institutes offered by elite universities which are worth attending because of the unique nature of the courses offered. If your kids are into the humanities, there are prestigious music camps and theater camps run by conservatories in the summer. I am not sure that all of them are still accepting applications for this year, but many still have openings.

Indigo, yep, I know that it's Johns Hopkins - I make that mistake all the time. blush eek The JH rep visited our school, and he made a point of reminding us of the correct name.

Thanks, all. I am glad to hear that there will be resources for this family who just received their child's IQ scores. The family is eager for guidance and opportunities. While my kids had access to Duke Tip due to living in the US, other families who have been away for long periods of time may not be aware of these organizations.
