    Hi!

I've been hanging out and enjoying your great advice and interesting viewpoints for a while now. Thank you!

I'm a SAHM of DS7 (HG) and DS5 (?)in a large city. DS7 is in 1st in a clustered GT program and DS5 is in Pre-K this year...we're still trying to figure out where he will go next year.

The GT cluster is good, but not good enough. There is almost no differentiation and while DS is reading at a 5th grade level and gets 100% on most spelling pretests, his classwork is still on phonics, with an average grade of 100%...sigh. And the math they teach is to add faster and subtract faster, rather than moving on to more challenging and/or interesting things.

You've all given me great ideas for supplementation, for which I'm very grateful, and viewpoints on private vs. public school which are also helpful.

    Thanks for sharing your wisdom,
    Saritz
