Gifted kid w/ trouble relating to peers. I just got a phone call about needing to meet in a week. There was no information given on the topic. I immediately thought, oh-no.

Have you ever gotten a teacher call to meet w/ good news?

Yes! And I worried about it the first time, too. Good luck.

Whether or not I have isn't relevant... but what I have done when I've had a call like this is to ask ahead of time what the meeting is about, so I can be prepared. If I didn't know, I'd spend the next week worrying! Most of the time I get enough info by asking to either ease my fears or spur me on to prepare myself.

    Best wishes,

I would definitely ask for what it is about... You certainly have a right to know. I have only ever been ambushed and that is not pleasant! Sometimes it feels like they love catching you off guard... But I do hope it's great news and not bad!
