I know I've read about some online math game that several of you have recommended, but I can't remember what it was, and I, of course, didn't bookmark it. As I recall, it was really great for kids who are very high in math, and I'm sure it was beyond elementary-school math. Some of you commented that your kids really loved it. Now we need something like that!

Is this ringing a bell for anyone?

Can you describe it? Was it a game that you played online or downloaded? Some of the popular math resources I can think of:

    • Timez Attack: still elementary school age. Download. Paid. Practice times table.
    • Evolver: pre-algebra age. Download. Paid. Also an online multiplayer version.
    • There is a sequel to Evolver, but I'm not sure if it's supported. I think the company is focusing on online multiplayer (Dimension M).
    • Khan's academy. Not really a game, but has gaming elements. Complete units, get streaks, earn badges. Various levels. Free.
    • Alcumus (AoPS). Like Khan academy. Problem based with many gaming elements.
    • Decartes Cove. Purchase. Myst + Math = Win. Expensive but depending on your child may be a good fit.

Those are the ones that jump to mind. If you can describe the game in more detail maybe something will come mind. Good luck.

Looks like Timez Attack will be adding other operations in the near future. That's probably great news for the younger mathy ones.

Descartes' Cove is what springs to my mind reading this, although it's not online, it's CDs that you get in the post (how quaint!) Certainly I strongly recommend it; my DS loves it.

Descartes' Cove is what I was thinking of. Do people who have tried it still recommend it?

How is Evolver? Do your kids like it?
