My daughter is five years old and in in kindergarten.I was told by her teacher that she doesnt know how to read and write, read simple words ,sentences, write the alphabet ...etc

I help her with her lessons at home and also noticed that howmuch ever she tries she keeps forgetting the alphabet, their sound, and the way they should be written.I have to guide her each and every time.

Is this learning disability?Whom should i take help from?...Please help...I am really worried.

Does the school have a speech-language pathologist who can evaluate her?

    Thnku for the link....

I live in the middleeast. Her school doesnt have a speech language pathologist to evaluate her .She was very late to begin to talk..almost 3yrs.

She struggles with words ..to retell an incident or story at school...i have to make out what she is trying to say.Should i take her to a speech pathologist first?

I would try this link to search for a professional near you and discuss what you're seeing. Even if the school doesn't have a SLP, they may be able to make a referral. Good luck!

    This may help too:

P.S. I would also discuss this with her pediatrician. Sorry, I re-read that you're not in the US so the findpro link won't do you much good.
