I have been throwing this around for a while. I am wondering if anyone uses an umbrella or cover school for their children. We have a private school in Michigan that is accredited and will award diploma's and transcripts to homeschoolers who meet the same requirements but will give flexibility in the materials. They have specific policies in place for GT students from what I am reading.

My only other thought is that our high school won't allow my DD to take high school classes until high school "age". But Michigan Graduation Requirements state awarding credit is based on proficiency in expectations, not in seat time and can be earned before entering high school. I am wondering if it would give my DD an advantage when she becomes of high school age, to access AP and other dual enrollment classes if she has already completed the class from an accredited school? They are accredited by the same agencies, with the private also being accredited by a private school association. Any ideas?
