2 questions

I asked my mom (who works at a school where several of the teachers and administrators form my gifted elementery school now work at) to find out what measures I was tested on. I was told the peabody was one....I don't remember the other, but remember it was an achievement test. Anyway, how do peabody scores correlate to other IQ test scores?...I was told my IQ was 132.

Okay, on to my second question. I have a friend who does not live in town, but I do visit from time to time, who administers the Peabody as part of her job when she does assesments. I was thinking of asking her to test DD who is 2.7. I m just curious and feel DD falls in the HG+ catergory plus DD knows her and feels comfortable with her. DD is extreamly advanced verbally....on a 5-6 year old level according to 2 peds and an education specialist, so would this being vocab based actually score her higher then other measures? Would it give us an accurate picture for now until we actually test several years from now?

I don't think having any type of measure so young would be very reliable.

I can say that my youngest Dd was just tested (4.5) with the WPPSI. She has always had a very advanced vocabulary. I knew she was speaking like a much older child when she was 1 and 2 and 3....

However, in waiting a bit more, we got a more comprehensive picture. In fact, 4.5 is still very young; we only tested at this age for school admissions.

Would you do anything different if you knew she was gifted or HG?

I believe there are two different tests called Peabody- one is a vocabulary test used by speech pathologists (like your friend) and the other is an achievement test. I would guess that your school used the Peabody Individual Achievement Test rather than the vocabulary one to test you for giftedness.

My DS took a Peabody achievement test this last spring. We weren't given a score that looks like an IQ score. He was tested in 6 areas (I think?) and were were given a percentile and a grade level equivalent for each subject. And then an overall percentile and grade level equivalent. In our case, it was required for homeschooling. But it was also very informative as he's never had open ended achievement testing. It's not a perfect and comprehensive test though by any means.
