    I'm looking for a good resource on exactly how compacting is done for gifted kids.

    I'll look into these. I *think* I'm already compacting to some degree, because I refuse to make dd drill when she has clearly mastered a topic. I just want to see if there are some good guidelines on how to compact to make sure I'm not missing anything.

    There are several good articles in these search results. Also, several links down, you can read the section on compacting out of the "Reforming Gifted Education" that Dazed suggested.
