I don't know if she took the star test. I never heard of this.

My daughter said the first graders just pick their books from their section. Giving her some flexibility here might be nice and an easy fix.

I left a message for the V principal to call me to find about the reading testing they do. I'm posting here because I thought it might better prepare me for the conversation.

Does the AR test have a ceiling?

Does your school let first graders read above grade level if they score in that range?

ARs are not required at 1st Grade. My daughter did this to enrich her school experience. She was feeling like it was preschool with no playing. She tested on a book we had at home that was on the AR list. I'm not sure whether or not they would have let her pick this book. It may depend on if it was in her section.
