A poster at WMT accelerated learners board said she asked and was told this is also open to homeschoolers. Well Trained Mind Accelerated Learners Board

So the problem becomes finding 19 students to sign up with! I would find a way to pay for my three girls if I could find enough parents at that price. The normal individual pricing is just over my head with five children. I wish my district was open to something like that, even if all the parents were paying. I just might have to give the Director of Curriculum a call again and bring it up. Otherwise I wouldn't know how to find enough kids in our area. I doubt they would be helpful at this point. That's less than we pay now for ALEKS!

Anyone want to form a homeschool group with me? wink

I looked into this a little more and there are actually homeschool and home study groups registered. All you need is 20 families interested and willing to submit the parents name, zip, email, and number of students interested in order to register a group. They add the group and the parent can then register and pay for the individual students on their site.

"While students participating in the Open Enrollment Program primarily use the EPGY Kindergarten through Pre-Algebra (K-7) Mathematics Course, they are also able to use the English Language Arts and Writing course."

That is an amazing offer for only $135 for a year! The only difference is that the parents are the advisor instead of an EPGY teacher.

Can the students not live all in the same area?

I think it would be worth asking if there were enough people interested. The only thing you need to have is someone willing to be the SSA to answer technical questions. Why couldn't that be done online? They have virtual schools all over that are part of public districts. Those students don't all live in the same area.

I will email them and ask. On the plus side, I homeschool as a non-public school in the state of Michigan. Meaning I am registered with the state. Maybe I can register my "school" if they won't let us register as a homeschool group. It can't hurt to ask either way.
