Shari - So sorry for all the change-ups, right when you thought you had next year all lined up. Maybe it's helpful that GT falls under special ed. Special ed to me makes it seem like a group who wouldn't take away necessary special accommodations. I hope your meeting goes well tomorrow.

We had our IEP meeting this morning and it went really well! DS6 is going to be radically accelerated to 4th grade. He will have pullouts for music and PE with the 1st graders. He will also participate in the end of day recess with 1st grade as it is required for his age (2 recess' a day). He will have math with the GT although he is going to have to take unit assessments for each 5th grade unit prior to moving forward. This is because of a few identified gaps that came up on the year end assessment for 5th grade math. He will continue to see the counselor 2x a month for additional support during the transition. We will have a meeting one month into the new term to see if any changes need to be made.

So with a big sigh of relief, I can now go back to being happy! At least for now, subject to change at a moments notice!
