    Thanks Aquinas. Many of the things you mention have been problems, and I have indeed taken the path of pointing out the issues with our child's disabilities being impacted. I have currently run out of steam for advocacy.

    But it has really helped me to have a discussion about this, I feel reassured that I am not being overly difficult or precious to find the situation unacceptable.

    And never underestimate the power to a child of seeing that your parent cares enough to have spoken for them, even when there were no visible effects.

    Yes I really don't tow the line of supporting the school to my kids, if I disagree with what the school is doing I will tell my kids that, and I will tell them what I have done about it. And sadly, most of the time, why that hasn't worked... They need to know that we believe in them and we see them.
