Evidently test-takers may be required to verify the speed of their internet connection, at the beginning of the scheduled testing period.

A preliminary self-test may be conducted via speedtest.net, and a testing company may independently verify the speed.

If a test-taker's internet speed is bogged down and does not meet/exceed the established threshold:
    - a test-taker's scheduled test may be cancelled by the testing company,
    - the test-taker's test record marked as "Incomplete" by the testing company,
    - rescheduling of the test disallowed by the testing company.

This policy appears to hold test-takers responsible for conditions beyond their control and be systemically punitive toward populations with slow or unreliable internet connections, including:
    - rural populations,
    - populations with low socio-economic status,
    - anyone experiencing a temporary outage.

This policy creates a record which indicates test-taker ineptitude regarding the test subject matter (Incomplete test) rather than accurately reflecting that the testing company made a decision to cancel the test session due to what it deemed insufficient internet speed.

Actually, a lot of the exams are not going to be online.

In Canada, they are online except for languages. The test last year online for chinese was ridiculous. It was 15 minutes long, all conversational. So if you were a native speaker, your speed of speaking was in your favor. And it was marked on a bell curve.
    15 minutes long. 4 questions.
