No. The study is in Iowa City, Iowa...about 7 hours from us. But, they only give a $100 stipend and a hotel room when you go down for the eval. However, the eval is completely free and THAT is a huge payoff.

Check into it. It's part of the IDEA Javits program.

Just put Belin Blank Javits Twice Exceptional into Google and it will pop up.

Have you google Javits Grants to see if there is anyone in your area doing studies?

Well, darn! He was turned down for the Javits study because we live out of state. Funny thing is I was given a full phone interview and was asked where I lived. So, obviously they haven't trained their screeners well.

We're back to square one! sigh.

I'm going to go to Deborah Ruf as soon as we can scrape together $1000 for her minimum upfront.

    Willa Gayle -
sorry the Javits study didn't work out.
good luck with the "scraping" - hopefully it will be perfect with Mites readiness to "do again." meanwhile buy Ruf's book - losing our minds and see if you like her on that level.

I also think you can download a developmental milestone sheet that you can start filling out - much easier to do if you don't have the pressure of an appointment set. I myself can't remember any of that stuff - sad to say.
