Will she need to take another math course her senior year? (Students here have to take 4 years of math regardless)

Actually the requirement here is 3 years including a 300 level class which is basically an Algebra 2 class. Her Algebra 2 class in 8th grade was taken at the high school through a grade school magnet program and counts for high school.. on a side note all the Junior BC students are taking stats senior year except 1. She took AP comp science principles this year which is also considered a math class. All together it will end up 5 math classes.

Did she happen to get Form O? Because apparently it was super extra hard. My son informed me that he would not be taking any AP exams ever again after that because it was the worst experience of his life. And he is also taking AP Stats next year (11th) and AP Comp Sci the year after that instead of something more challenging, but he decided that well before the exam. That's fine--he'll have plenty of time in college to take more math if he wants to. He'll end up having seven math classes when he graduates from high school.

She said it was O. She said it was hard but this is her third AP exam and she didn't mention not taking anymore.

Ds freshman took the WHAP test today. He texted me after school and said it was HARD. He is a test taking machine so it must have been pretty exhausting. He said the day went by really fast.

He will be taking AP Calc BC, APUSH and AP Physics next year.
I worry this could cause burn out at some point.

eta: I'm glad the transition went well into high school. We had a few stumbles along the way. Its hard to find a peer group even taking all these AP and honors classes.

AP Physics and APUSH are typically junior year classes in our district. My daughter is taking them next year

I so hope dd can take APUSH as a sophomore. If she has to wait, she will have 4 AP classes as a junior. To me, thats too much.

Sophomore honors English is a prerequisite unless you get department approval.

Sophomore honors English is a Prerequisite here too. APUSH and AP Physics is also for sophomores, or at least start in 10th. I would guess you could push back to get some flexibility but they are pretty set. Basically they are grooming the kids on this track to start the IB program their junior year.
He is also taking Spanish and Japanese which make scheduling interesting.

So how do you get the best teachers?

Yeah, well, my son took another one the next day (that he said was easy) and is taking another today, so I think he was exaggerating a bit there.

My point was that maybe she just felt done with calculus in that moment. Or maybe she just needs a break.
