Is it possible to have a ballpark estimate of what an Accuplacer score would be given a set of recent SAT scores?

DD12 has a bad flu so we are not going to allow her to take the onetime Accuplacer slot for High School placement. She has her heart set on a program which has a competitive selection process. There is an appeals process but the outlook is bleak as sickness is not on the list of excused absences (whereas participation in a 'Take your child to work day' activity is!). We are hoping to be able to submit her recent SAT scores which were good enough to get her invited to join CTY SET (based on Maths admittedly) to still keep her in the running for selection to the program...

    Aeh - I sent you a PM

There isn't a direct conversion between SAT and Accuplacer, at the moment (although there may be one after the College Board completes their revision), but there are some correlation documents out there, mainly used by community colleges and some four-year colleges to determine placement into remedial coursework vs college-level courses. These may give you some support in using SATs as a substitute for Accuplacer.

The short version is that the SATs have a higher ceiling than Accuplacer does, with the latter maxing out around SAT 560 Verbal and 630 Math equivalent.

Correlation document comparing Accuplacer, SAT, ACT:

Sample placement cutoff scores from community colleges somewhere in the USA:
