My older son who is now 5 and in a Montessori program in a suburb of Philly showed signs of giftedness from a very young age. Most care providers, teachers and family remarked about how bright he was. As I learned more about gifted children, suddenly a lot of things about him began to make sense - the need for perfection, tantrums on failing to do little things, insatiable need for stimulus, etc.

Finally last week we put a number to his abilities - he scored 142 on the WPPSI IV, scoring perfect/near perfect on all sections except processing speed.

I am grateful to this forum where I have learned so many things about giftedness and the challenges faced by gifted children. Thanks to the experiences shared by many, I have become a better parent.
