So I am new to all of this. MY DD7 just scored in the low 200's on the MAP test putting her in the 99th in reading and 97th in math she was in the 99th in math last year but dripped a little. Last year I had no idea she scored this high because no one showed me the results. There is no definition for gifted in our state. Is this enough to ask for an IEP or will she need more testing? I think she needs more in class but I don't know what to ask for. We live in a rural very under serviced area with no GT programs close or after school programs. What is the responsibility of school to provide advanced learning?
