Ha! Last night, my DD11 mused that nothing in the world could be identical, because two things that might look identical are made of different molecules, so they can't be truly identical.

Has your DD read A Wrinkle in Time? There's a nice little scene where the characters jump through time and space and accidentally stop over in a two-dimensional world

We are reading A Wrinkle in Time right now! Poor old Charles Wallace has just been overwhelmed by the bad guy with the red eyes. We can't wait to hear how Meg, Calvin, and CW save Meg and CW's dad!
DD could use some friends right now - I can't imagine what conversations she would have if she could find her "peeps".

What is it about nighttime? DD5 does all her random learning at bedtime. We'll be sitting in bed and she starts asking theological and philosophical questions. and last night I taught her how to tell time which led to explaining multiplication two hours after official bedtime. And it's not just to avoid sleep. Since she was so awake I offered to read to her or color with her but no. She wanted to learn her times tables.

She throws me off because during the day she's such an extraverted 5 year old obsessed with pink and glitter and princesses. And then at night she's like, "Okay. Let's get down to work."

    BTDT!

And adding another quirk to our version of this story: Up at 1 am with small child who fell asleep prior to taking a bath, woke up hours later, and now insists that bathing must be accomplished, or, apparently, catastrophe will ensue. Bathed, and I'm exhausted and well past ready for bed. Tucking in, and small child says, "But I planned to read my history book (on colonial America) first!"

Yes. Wasn't intending to imply DD had invented an entirely original technology in a weekend. She did research that during her project. Oh well - I thought it was cool anyway smirk (Gosh that took the wind out of my sails a bit! )

But I love the fact that she wanted to build it, and invested so much time and energy into seeing her vision come to life! I say you should put your anecdote back. smile

Do put it back, or put it on the Ultimate Brag Thread, because it's wonderful!
