So much talk here on the forum lately about middle school, friendship (or lack thereof), social struggles...Our DD10 is in the midst of that mess. I am waiting to hear back from our AG teacher for help, but I had (maybe) a good idea - pen pals. It's such an old fashioned idea, but maybe DD could find some girls to share with? I found a couple of places - "Students of the World" and "e pals" by Cricket Media. Anyone have direct experience with these? Other ideas? DD is now saying she doesn't want to go back to school, and I heard her say that she will have to pay people to be friends with her. I am just doing everything I can think of to assist DD (and borrowing ideas found here). I did get her one of the books about how to manage friendships that several people mentioned. I have caught her reading it a couple of times. This is my New Year's Resolution - help DD to find friends.
