LOL Ultramarina. I've been there too smile But since I haven't actually done those experiments, I was quite baffled by where my kid picked up the word Valium!

The HP thread reminded me that DD somehow seems to know something is up with Professor Snape.

She has been practicing a rather emotionally intense piece and when I asked her if the piece reminded her of something or someone, she said Professor Snape. When I asked for an explanation, she said "it goes well with him because he is angry, sad, and has a lot of passion but mostly, he is very sad. There is a tragedy in him."

This was after watching the first two movies so she is probably reacting to how Alan Rickman portrayed the character.

Yesterday, DS6 decided he should write a poem. It took him two seconds:

Of all the darkness of the monsters,
There is a light that grows the biggest fright.

That is a very deep, insightful poem. Fantastic.

DD11 is currently charting the levels of popularity in her middle school. She lists primary and secondary characteristics. I was happy to see that she indicates a few of them are her friends (because she struggles so much with that aspect of her life). Anyway, the main reason for being popular listed under the primary column........Fertility.

Has she been reading too much about reproduction? smile

Maybe I should clarify in case her reasoning was odd. Pretty male birds get all the attention(and thus make lots of baby birds) Handsome strong lions get their pick of the lady lions and father lots of baby lions. Pretty middle school girls get their pick of boys and friends. Luckily I have been around her long enough that I get her connections.

My three year old's last day of preschool (for the year) was yesterday. We had a picnic/celebration and I was trying to prompt him to say goodbye to his teachers, who were hugging him, so I said, "do you have anything you want to say to _?" My son replied (to the teacher), "I don't think I like this program. I like to do my own thing and I don't appreciate it when you are always making suggestions about what I should do." Well, that's a goodbye she probably won't forget for a while!
