Because people are gifted throughout the lifespan, and occasionally an adult finds these Gifted Issues Forums due to their own process of self-discovery (not related to a child's education or development), and since Davidson Institute for Talent Development has created an "alumni" designation for those who age out of the DYS program... I requested that the "Age or Ability Specific Forums" be expanded to contain an age category for adulthood.

A new forum was created and this is its inaugural post.

The collections on the Davidson Database have long included articles on gifted adults, such as this article, Gifted Adults in Work.

Hoagies Gifted Education Page has a list of resources dedicated to the topic of Gifted Adults.

Stephanie Tolan, author of "Is It a Cheetah?", has written an insightful article on Discovering the Gifted Ex-Child.

Here, in reverse chronological order, are some examples of old threads on the subject of gifted adults, scattered throughout the different forums, prior to creation of this specific forum especially for topics related to Gifted Adults:
1- Male and Female math whizzes in adulthood (Nov 2014)
2- disoriented and scared (Oct 2014)
3- books for adults (Aug 2014)
4- post (not whole thread): retirement (Feb 2014)
5- Questions for you all about Giftedness (Jan 2014)
6- Are Gifted Couples More Satisfied than Non-gifted? (Nov 2013)
7- post (not whole thread): finances in retirement (Oct 2013)
8- post (not whole thread): 10-18 years to pay back student loans, whole career to last 40 years (Oct 2013)
9- Comorbidity between Giftedness and Mental Illness? (June 2013)
10- Gifted adults (May 2012)
11- Gifted adults-what did your parents do right/wrong (Apr 2012)
12- Intelligence and Aging (Jan 2012)
13- What are YOU reading? (Oct 2011)
14- Gifted, Inquisitive, Derailed (Jan 2011)
15- A warning from a gifted adult (May 2010)
16- Adult Friendships (Dec 2009)

17 - The book Gifted Grown-ups (1999) is cited in this old post (Mar 2009), as stating that 20% of prison inmates are gifted.

18 - Adding a link to a post in the thread "What kids don't learn". The lack of learning these essential life skills in childhood may have a negative impact lasting well into adulthood.

19 - Adding a link to Why I never bring up my own experience, Parenting and Advocacy Forum (Jan 2020).

Thank you for working on this -- I've been searching for some resources.
