OP Bostonian Member B Joined: Feb 2010 Posts: 2,640 MA	A Yahoo Finance article U.S. Secretary of Commerce is taking on America's "skills gap" mentions the Flatiron School in New York City, which "teaches anyone who is interested how to code". I see that a 3-month in-person course on web development costs $15K. The prework resources http://prework.flatironschool.com/web-development/ that students are supposed to use before enrolling are free or inexpensive.

My son has programmed in Python and will be taking the intermediate Python AOPS class. I may get some books for him (and me -- I know Python too) on applications of Python in math. Several titles can be found searching "python math" on Amazon, and the book "Coding the Matrix: Linear Algebra through Applications to Computer Science" (2013) which uses Python and was used in an online course https://www.coursera.org/course/matrix also looks interesting.
