My son went to MIT Spark this weekend, where a parents' speaker who is a middle school English teacher and college admissions consultant gave a talk on encouraging your children to read.
She recommended book lists from the Association for Library Service for Children and YALSA.

    Young Adult Library Services Association

    She also mentioned

THE CHILDREN’S BOOK COMMITTEE at the Bank Street College of Education
