Ds7 "knows" how to multiply, but is resistant to memorizing his multiplication tables. ( He currently knows 0,1,2,3,5,10's and mostly 4's. He's ready for more math, but it's so laborious because he hasn't mastered his multiplication tables. Anyone know of any fun games or apps?

    Thanks in advance!

I bought an iPhone app probably 5 years ago called Math Cards by Dollar App. My ds used this a lot. Its quick and helps with the dreaded timed tests.

Math Magician is OK. My kids liked being able to print out a certificate showing their score, though for kids who don't do well being timed, it can be a stressor. It's free.

A new board game is due for release in the next few weeks as well called Prime Climb (it was on kickstarter)

This is not exactly a multiplication app, but my kids liked Factor Samurai, which is a little bit like Fruit Ninja with regard to game play. You slice numbers into pairs of factors until you have only prime factors left.

What Zen Scanner shows is exactly what we did at home. Once my ds saw the times table it clicked. I would give him a blank one and he would fill it out. Draw it like chalk art on the drive way. It is a very good way to show them it is not as big as it appears.

DS9 usually hates timed games, but loves Timez Attack. I'm going to test out Zen Scanner's approach on DD6 - thanks for the link.
