I asked the school system to administer an IQ test to my son, 7 year old second grader.

I received an email from the AP today saying that they will be giving him the InView (IQ) Test tomorrow in a third grade classroom with several other regular education students. The test will then be sent off to be scored.

Can anyone give me an idea as to if this is an accurate IQ test?

I assumed that the IQ Test would be given to him one to one and now I worry if him going to a third grade classroom might be a distraction for him and not make the test as reliable...and wondering if an IQ Test for 3rd grader is the same one they typically give to a 2nd grader?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

    Thank you!

You can search for the test on google and find information about it. It is probably a Pearsson test and they publish a lot of info on their website about all their tests. Also, it might be a good idea to look around your school district website, to see if they provide a definition of gifted and what the qualifying scores and tests are. I would also prefer an individually administered test, but you may get meaningful information from this test as well.

I have a simple question re. NNAT. Will not finishing the test indicate lower score? Our 5th grader took it today but apparently spent a lot of time thinking too deeply about the questions so didn't finish. Now he's really worried it will translate to a low score. I want him to forget about it and enjoy his weekend but he's worrying. He's had gifted services in the past but we moved to a new school district so they're redoing all his testing (although he'd never taken NNAT) before they'll provide services, which is making him nervous. His WISC IV is 144 and CoGAT composite is 99, but 99, 97 and 96 when broken into sub-groups. This is for Loudoun County VA Futura program. Thanks!
