I have a 3rd grade EG child who was tested in K by a highly reputable tester who specializes in gifted. He was identified as EG (1 point below PG) with no discernible learning disability or behavioral concerns. Fast forward 2.5 years, he has stagnated his reading and writing growth and is now in the lowest percentile of "grade level". Since then we have further ruled out eyesight and behavioral issues as related to these troubles. I was able to get a PPT convened b/c of his stagnation in growth and growing discrepancy between potential and achievement. That said, I need to arm myself with the appropriate information/research/statues that says though he is still technically on grade level, he is 2e and therefore should be given proper remediation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
