I am thinking about enrolling DS6 in an online creative writing course. His writing skills are soaring thanks to Rock and Learn "Writing Strategies". He is asking for more resources.

Does anybody know of a good, online writing course?

Also, are there any good publications that publish young children's stories?

    Thanks!

    Ooh, thanks for the tip.

I'm sorry I can't offer suggestions for online courses other than DYS or the classes for gifted kids through Northwestern or John Hopkins. Maybe check DYS for lists of summer courses.

    Cricket magazine publishes kids' work.

The Cricket magazine group has a couple of publications that do (or at least used to) publish young authors' content. They tend to orient older (adolescents) though.

The other one that I know of is aimed at girls, though, and in an older demographic, so not helpful to you.

I'll put my thinking cap on and see what bubbles to the surface. smile
