    Hi CFK,

I did a Google search for "online physics courses" and got some hits. Try this one: http://www.mcasco.com/p1outln.html

Also, here's a link to information about particle physics:

Has he done any practical experiments? We do a lot of kitchen chemistry and biology (see my post answering "What IS the goal?"). There are a lot of books on the subject.

Here's a link to physics experiments for kids:

I'm a scientist, and doing practical work is absolutely essential to understanding the sciences. If you can't find an online course, you may wish to substitute some kitchen- and garage-type stuff.

Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I'm a biologist but have some knowledge about physics and chemistry (esp. at the middle school level).

Here is a link for an online Physics course which I've read good things about. http://www.quickstudylabs.com/

Another one is Byte Sized Physics - just google that and it should pop up.

Look at the group buy for cyber ed science courses through homeschool buyer's co-op. They offer middle school physics and high school chemistry. The courses are a fraction of what they cost through JHU/CTY. I was recently amused to see that DS 11 qualified to take the middle school level courses his 7 yo sister just took for his great scores on the SCAT.
