DS participated for the first time yesterday.
It made me think, that those sites/questions they post could be a great resource for our mathy kids. So I am posting a link to yesterdays problems with nice solutions to go along.
    http://www.math.utah.edu/smc/2008/exams.html
If you search around that site you can find questions and answers going back to 2003 I believe.
The test was tough, as you can see:-)

So, if any of you know resources like that, would you kindly share?
    Thanx.

Wow, Ania, as I consider HSing for DS7, I realize I couldn't even take the 7-9 state math test. Looks like if I HS, DS won't be the only one being HS'd, LOL. I don't remember a thing from my years of math - or more likely, I didn't even know it to begin with.

I wasn't aware of any state math exams. Are these available in other states? I'll have to look around. That looks very cool. I hope your ds does well, Ania!

Yes, it was a very TOUGH test. They practically killed the kids with question number 1- LOL :-)
I think that this test has gotten progresively more difficult over the past three years. When you look at questions from 2006, they are dooable, most of them anyway. 2007 is more difficult and this year topped it. This test required some real math knowledge, not just logical problem solving. Some questions do require knowledge of CALC.
    I like it though:-)

Ania, make me feel better. Is 7-9 grade 7-9, or age 7-9?

Thanks. I still don't know the answers, but feel slightly better about my ignorance.
