She said her goodbyes in "Any PG kids never skipped a grade?" thread. She is fine.

Can we turn this thread into a "Dottie Appreciation" thread?

I sure loved hearing stories about her advocacy for her children. Dottie has 3 different kids with 3 different needs - all gifted but all different. How does one find the strength to believe one's mom-gut that all 3 paths are the right path for each child? I think knowing when to worry and advocate and knowing when to relax and enjoy is something I've grown at by being around Dottie.

That should be a key part of the advocacy cycle - knowing when to stand down and enjoy.

I also loved learning from Dottie about the WISC.

    Love and More Love,
    Grinity

I haven't been here for long, so my overlap with Dottie's time was brief, and yet I learned so much from her in that time and will really miss her insight.

Dottie's knowledge and perspective about WISC has been incredibly helpful to me, as well as the advocacy stories Grinity mentioned. She certainly knows her children's needs very well and showed tremendous insight into how to meet them.

    I miss her very much.

Even gone, Dottie is teaching us something.

    (I sound like Pollyanna.)
