When DS was in 1st grade, the class used to play spelling/math games and there came a time when DS didn't get to play because nobody else could ever win. He got to sit at the back with the assistant and do flashcards. Sounds pitiful, but DS enjoyed

Would a family grade-skipping party be an option? I missed one of my graduations, and, other than the family not sitting through a long ceremony, the "graduation party" was like any of my siblings' or cousins' graduation parties.

Here's a few thoughts based on what's been written here. I found that we do better in our playroom to a few things left out all the time for the kids to choose from. Every few months take most of the stuff and put it away and bring out different toy
