My ds has not technically had a whole grade acceleration. He just has done more than a years worth of HS before 9th grade. He may choose early graduation or may take a full year of PSEOP at a local college. He has been so much happier with the older

Those are some fabulous scores. I agree with mnmom, that you seem really tuned in to her and should be proud of the connection you're maintaining.

Our DD has already assured us that she'll be attending a local university, so she can continue living at home, so we're not facing the imminent loss of our child when she graduates high school early. Of course, she's only 8, and going into the 4th g

Ugh. I'm sorry you had such a miserable meeting. How frustrating and ridiculous. I think it may be true that a full-time GT program in itself is not always great for HG+ kids. My kiddo thrives in one, but he also has skipped a grade. (And the teacher

La Texican - You're welcome. I keep creating livebinders when I see great websites or stuff and I don't want to keep that stored in my head. So I love them. There's just too much to keep track of and resources otherwise. I haven't read it yet but

I have the same feelings. It makes me SO sad that my DD will graduate from hs at 16. I feel like I'm loosing two years with my beloved girl. And there is no way she'd want to do a gap year - she wants to go to college at the same time all her frie

Any chance your DS is shy in class and doesn't speak up because he feels different than the other kids and is hiding his abilities? My DD was like that and teachers were concerned about it. That is, until she skipped a grade and started speaking up

In our district, they use the KBIT as a pre-test, to determine if it makes sense for them to do a full WISC. My youngest scored about 93% on the KBIT and had they done only the KBIT, he most likely would not have qualified for the school-administere
